When the rain wonβt stop, a little preparation can keep you and your family safe.

β Clear drains and gutters around your house
β Move electrical items and valuables to higher ground
β Keep important documents in a waterproof pouch
β Prepare an emergency bag (torchlight, power bank, dry food, water, basic meds, clothing)
β Charge phones and power banks early
β Keep your car fuelled in case evacuation is needed β but never drive into unsafe water
β Save emergency contacts and official alert channels
β Plan a meeting point and identify the nearest relief centre
β Evacuate early if water levels begin to rise or when advised by authorities

β Follow official instructions and move to higher ground immediately if told to evacuate
β Do not walk, swim, or drive through floodwaters β even shallow water can be dangerous
β Turn off electricity and gas at the main switch if itβs safe to do so
β Keep your family together and stay on upper floors if trapped
β Stay updated using reliable news or official apps
β Conserve your phone battery for emergency use

β Wait for official clearance before returning home
β Do not switch on electricity until itβs been checked by a qualified person
β Wear gloves and boots when cleaning up
β Disinfect items and surfaces that came into contact with floodwater
β Photograph damage for insurance or assistance claims
